HOLLYWOOD -- Doggone-it, even Renee Zellweger's dog loves Jim Carrey.
Carrey and Zellweger -- who play lovers in Me, Myself and Irene, which opens Friday -- are also an item in real life.
Zellweger knew Carrey was the genuine article when her 12-year-old lab Dylan gave the actor its bark of approval.
"Dylan's a very good judge of character and she's very picky about who is going to be a friend. She's a snotty, 12-year-old virgin who has old-fashioned convictions," explains Zellweger.
"She absolutely adores Jim but, then, how could she not? Jim is very smart and very, very charming."
Rumour has it Carrey's love for Zellweger has turned him into a love-sick puppy and he has wooed her with a five-karat diamond engagement ring.
"We are not engaged. And I do not have a ring of any kind from Jim," says Zellweger. "Anyone who who knows me at all well can testify that I don't wear jewelry. I would never tell a guy to mortgage his house to buy me a ring I'll never wear."
