Jim Carrey is in talks to team up with "Being John Malkovich" scribe Charlie Kaufman and Bjork's music video director Michel Gondry on a new project, Variety reports.

"Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind" tells the story of a man trying to cope with the memory of a red-hot past sexual relationship.

The screenplay has been creating a buzz in Hollywood, and Carrey is in the early stages of negotiating for the part. A number of top female actresses are also lighting up for the co-lead, Variety said.

Gondry, who made his mark as a commercial director, has helmed clips for Bjork's songs "Human Behaviour," "Army of Me," "Isobel," "Hyperballad," "Joga," and "Bachelorette." He recently teamed up with Kaufman on the film "Human Nature."
