Actress Helena Bonham Carter and director Tim Burton are proud parents of a baby boy, Zap2it.com reports.

The child, the couple's first, was born on Saturday at a London hospital.

The pair met on the set of the 2001 Burton-directed film "Planet Of The Apes."

Bonham Carter's lengthy resume includes "Fight Club," "Howard's End" and "The Wings Of A Dove," for which she received an Oscar nomination.

Tim Burton's "Big Fish," starring Bonham Carter, Billy Crudup and Ewan McGregor, is scheduled for release in Canada on December 18. (More on Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton)
