According to Cattrall's spokeswoman, with no script or start date, the actress opted to take other projects.

However, Variety reports that the actress was seeking script approval and more money, which caused the network to abandon the project.

An HBO spokesperson told Variety: "We've had six wonderful years with the show and we're extremely proud of what we've accomplished."

Cattrall is currently shooting "Ice Princess" in Toronto.
