Asian superstar Jackie Chan's star continues to rise in America.

He now has his own star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

"Not bad for a guy whose parents tried to sell him for $25 US," says Chan.

Chan was born to a poor family in Chen GangShen, one of Hong Kong's crowded inner city areas. His father was a cook who barely eked out a living for his family.

"My parents almost sold me. It's not that they didn't love me. They just couldn't afford to raise me properly."

Instead, at age seven, Chan was apprenticed to the Peking Opera where he studied martial arts, singing, dancing acrobatics and acting.

With the release of Rumble In The Bronx, Supercop and his new chop-suey flick First Strike, Chan is building a solid, enthusiastic fan base in America.

"I want to release at least two movies a year in America," says Chan.

It's not likely he'll run out soon. In his 20 years as Asia's premiere action star, Chan has made more than 100 films.
