Dancing, then screaming
By LOUIS B. HOBSON
It certainly didn't hurt Courteney Cox's career to play Fox's love interest for two seasons on Family Ties.

"My biggest exposure before that was in Bruce Springsteen's video for Dancing in the Dark," Cox says.

"Brian De Palma picked me out of a crowd of girls to join Bruce on stage," says Cox.

These days, Cox has her own hit series as Monica in Friends and her own hit film series in Scream and Scream 2.

What Cox doesn't have is a significant other. Since breaking up with Michael Keaton two years ago, Cox dated Christian Slater briefly but is now living on her own.

"I'm not actively looking for a relationship, but if one comes my way, I'll certainly give it a good chance to develop into something permanent," she says.

Kevin Williamson, who created the Scream series, says he is working several versions of Scream 3.

"I've heard that both Courteney and Neve (Campbell) are not certain they want to return for a second sequel so I'm developing scripts that would include them and scripts that would exclude them."
