Courtney Cox will star opposite Tim Allen in the upcoming comedy "Zoom," Variety reports.

The film, based on Jason Lethcoe's graphic novel "Zoom's Academy for the Super Gifted," centres on an ex-superhero who has lost his powers but is called back into action to train a new generation of superheroes.

Cox will play Marsha, a scientist with the agency who is in charge of the superhero program.

The film, being directed by Peter Hewitt ("Garfield," "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey"), begins shooting in July and is scheduled for release in 2006.
