There's a possibility Tom Cruise's impossible mission will continue, with "Fight Club" director David Fincher.
Variety reports that Cruise's next intended project was "The Last Samurai." But his attention has been diverted by the possibility of producing a third "Mission: Impossible" film.
Cruise has mentioned that he hoped to keep making the films by teaming with directors who have a strong visual sense. Brian De Palma and John Woo directed the first two installments.
Fincher, who is known for the dazzling visual presentation of films such as "Fight Club," "Seven," "The Game" and "Panic Room," fits the bill. Variety said Cruise is now keen to enlist Fincher for the next "Mission: Impossible" film.
It's worth noting that Fincher was originally scheduled to direct Crusie's ex, Nicole Kidman, in "Panic Room," before an injury sidelined the actress. She was replaced by Jodie Foster.
