Cruise, Shields in war of words
By JAM! Movies
A war of words has begun between Tom Cruise and Brooke Shields. Shields, responding to comments Cruise made about her taking antidepressants to combat postpartum depression, told People.com that the "War of the Worlds" star should mind his own business. "Tom should stick to saving the world from aliens and let women who are experiencing postpartum depression decide what treatment options are best for them," said Shields, whose recent book "Down Came the Rain" focuses on her struggle with the disorder after the birth of her daughter Rowan in 2003. As a noted Scientologist, Cruise is against the use of antidepressants. He previously told Access Hollywood that women should care for themselves with "vitamins and exercise," and added that he cares about Shields and thinks "she is an incredibly talented woman, (but) look at where her career has gone." |
