Hollywood funnyman Billy Crystal is being pegged to star in an English remake of the French comedy "Apres Vous," Variety reports.

The story centres on a headwaiter of a Paris bistro who happens upon a stranger who is about to commit suicide. The waiter befriends the man, who ends up turning the waiter's life upside down.

The French version had a limited release in U.S. theatres in June.

Crystal was last seen in the 2002 comedy "Analyze That" and will direct and star in the film "Have a Nice Day."
