Robert De Niro will play a Hollywood producer in "What Just Happened?," Variety reports.
The 60-year-old actor will portray a character based on Art Linson ("The Untouchables," "Heat") and his experiences as a Hollywood producer, which he chronicled in his memoir subtitled "Bitter Hollywood Tales From the Front Line."
The film will feature a slew of famous faces, including Sean Penn, who will play himself in the comedy about a producer going through two weeks of hell as he tires to get a picture made.
Director Barry Levinson ("Wag the Dog") will helm the movie, with production set to begin next summer.
De Niro is currently shooting "The Good Shepherd," a thriller also starring Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie.
