'Chocolat' star is sick of chocolate
By JAM! Movies
Depp told The New York Post that director Lasse Halstrom shot take-after-take of Depp enjoying co-star Juliette Binoche's confections, to the point where Depp no longer wants to eat the candy. "It was kind of rich, dark, bitter chocolate. After about seven of them, it tends to not have a nice effect," Depp told The Post. "It was a little much . . . If I had any deep love for chocolate, it was destroyed during the filming of that movie, just having to eat such a lot of it." Meanwhile, Depp, 37, who lives in France with actress and singer Vanessa Paradis and their daughter Lily-Rose Melody, said he is happy to stay in Europe and has no interest in returning to America. "I'll never raise my daughter there. I'll never raise any child there. I'd rather be in Europe being able to discuss when the grapes are ripe for picking." "Chocolat" is nominated for best picture, best actress (for Binoche), best supporting actor (Judi Dench), best adapted screenplay, and best score at this month's Academy Awards. |
