TORONTO - A Toronto woman accused of slashing movie star Leonardo DiCaprio at a posh Hollywood party was freed yesterday on $19,000 bail.
Aretha Wilson, 39, who was arrested Monday and held for extradition to the United States, was ordered released by Justice Faye McWatt pending the extradition hearing.
Wilson will be back in court July 16 to set a date for her extradition hearing.
The arrest of the 5-foot-6, 110-pound woman comes nearly four years after Los Angeles Police issued an arrest warrant for Wilson.
Her troubles date to the early morning hours of June 17, 2005, in Hollywood.
DiCaprio was allegedly approached by Wilson around 3 a.m. and was struck in the neck and side of his head with a glass, police alleged.
The attack left DiCaprio with 17 stitches -- 10 to his ear and seven to his neck.
