Cameron Diaz plays with Angels
By NATASHA STOYNOFF
News that Cameron Diaz may be assigned very hazardous duties as one of the new feature-film Charlie's Angels is truly disastrous.

First of all, Drew Barrymore has already been assigned, and two blond angels at once doesn't work. Hence the flop of the Shelley Hack/Cheryl Ladd version of the gun-toting trio.

Unless Diaz is meant to represent the short-haired, smart angel, a la Kate Jackson. But she'd have to die her hair and deglamorize. Hack was also meant to be the smart one, but the blond hair did her in.

If Barrymore is Jill Munro -- the dippy, sexy, athletic (swimsuits!), blonde, and Diaz is Sabrina Duncan, the gangly intellectual in turtlenecks, who will be Kelly Garrett, the soft-spoken, sensitive, long-haired brunette?

And what if that trouble-maker Barrymore shows up with, like, fire-engine-red hair? That's Tanya Roberts territory, and that didn't work either.

Casting, you see, is all in the hair colour. Good morning, Clairol!
