Action star Vin Diesel is returning to the world of video games with a plan to release "The Wheelman" as a game and feature film simultaneously, Variety reports.

Diesel will produce and star in both versions of the action-adventure title about an expert driver who comes out of retirement to protect a woman from his past.

"Wheelman" is set for release in late 2007.

Diesel's last video game venture, "The Chronicles of Riddick," sold moderately well, but the big screen version failed to generate substantial box office numbers.

Diesel will next be seen in "Find Me Guilty" due in theatres Mar. 17.
