Michael Douglas just a click away
By BOB THOMPSON
Last week, a London newspaper jumped the gun, breaking the story that Catherine Zeta-Jones was pregnant. As a media counter-measure, the actor plans to file pictures on his charity Web site and keep fans up-to-date on Zeta-Jones' pregnancy. He says he will continue that service, even after their child is born, for the 35,000 members of Douglas Web site. Included, too, will be bits and pieces dealing with Douglas' new film called Wonder Boys, which opens at the end of the month. During an L.A. screening of the comedy drama last weekend, there were some chuckles during a scene involving Douglas' character. He plays a professor in a mid-life crisis when his girlfriend announces she is pregnant with his baby. "The coincidence is funny, isn't it," agrees Douglas, who was told of the tittering. Meanwhile, he won't reveal his real baby's due date or his wedding date. Maybe that's because he hasn't yet divorced his current wife Diandra. One thing he will commit to? "I was very happily surprised that I fell in love. It's the last thing I ever thought I'd do," Douglas says. Is this the start of something? "Yes I would like to have more children," reports 55-year-old Douglas, who already has a 20-year-old son from his first marriage. |
