, her TV series It Had To Be You was abruptly cancelled, and last year she was fired a few weeks before opening in the L.A. production of Sunset Boulevard, although the firing subsequently earned her a huge settlement. Still, those career setbacks have done little to discourage her, or dim the blazing Dunaway fire."I have won an Oscar," she says of her TV executive part in Network. "My work is good. I'm clear. I feel happy in my life."

She arrived there by doing the Dunaway thing: "Everybody in life hits bad strides. What matters," she adds self-assuredly, "is that you keep showing up, and you don't leave stuff to chance."
