Clint Eastwood will be directing, producing and starring in "Million Dollar Baby," Variety reports.
Hilary Swank and Morgan Freeman are currently in negotiations to join the cast.
The follow-up to Eastwood's critically-acclaimed "Mystic River" centres on two ex-boxers (Eastwood and Freeman) who run a gym in Los Angeles. A young woman (Swank) determined to become a fighter approaches the men for their assistance.
Eastwood and Freeman worked together on 1992's "Unforgiven." Eastwood's last directorial effort "Mystic River" earned six Oscar nominations including one for Eastwood.
Production on "Million Dollar Baby" is expected to begin in June in Los Angeles.
Freeman's upcoming projects include "An Unfinished Life" with Jennifer Lopez and "Danny the Dog" with Jet Li and Bob Hoskins. Swank will be seen next in "Red Dust."
