Elliott's in town
By LOUIS B. HOBSON
Sam Elliott begins shooting his newest film You Know My Name in and around Calgary today. The star of such recent films as The Big Lebowski, Tombstone, Gettysburg and Rough Riders is playing legendary Oklahoma lawman Bill Tilghman. Elliott is also an executive producer on the film, which was written by and will be directed by John Kent Harrison, who helmed last year's award-winning TV film What the Deaf Man Heard. The five-week shoot will record the rough-and-tumble adventures of Tilghman, who was a frontier-style lawman fighting 20th-century criminals. Arliss Howard, who recently starred in Amistad and The Lost World, co-stars with Elliott. You Know My Name is being produced for the Turner Broadcasting System and will eventually be released on video. |
