Sci-fi epic seeks star look-a-likes

HOLLYWOOD -- Filmmaker Roland Emmerich, who brought us the hit disasters (talk about your oxymoron), Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow, is doing some additional shooting on his latest work of apocalyptic proportions, 2012.

The epic, due in theatres this November, concerns dire predictions made by an ancient Mayan calendar and the attempt to thwart them by the likes of John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Woody Harrelson and Danny Glover.

If that's not sufficient star power, a last-minute call went out for a slew of celebrity look-a-likes to play Brad and Angelina, Madonna, Bono, Oprah, Tiger Woods, Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Fidel Castro and "The Beckmans."

We presume they're referring to The Beckhams, as in David and Victoria, and not Stu and Sheila Beckman, who lived across the street from us, back in the day.

Somehow can't imagine them rubbing elbows with Brangelina, Fidel and company.

Lovely couple, though.
