Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx ("Ray") has signed on to star in the adaptation of Jeff Stetson's novel "Blood on the Leaves," Variety reports.

The story centres on a district attorney (Foxx) who struggles with feelings of revenge as he prosecutes a black history professor on trial for the murders of white men accused of crimes against blacks during the civil rights movement.

Foxx will also be producing the movie.

Foxx recently starred in "Jarhead" and just completed filming for Michael Mann's "Miami Vice."
