Cuba Gooding Jr. will pay a fortune-seeking hip-hop producer in the upcoming film "The Fighting Temptations," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The story sees Gooding's L.A.-based hip-hop producer returning home to a small southern town to collect an inheritance, only to find he can only cash in if he transforms a gospel choir into a hit act, the report said.

The movie has been in development at MTV Films since 1999 and has gone through several rewrites, the report said.
