Foxy lady Grier joins local movie shoot
By STEVE TILLEY
Grier, who starred in Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown, will join Chevy Chase, John Schneider (The Dukes of Hazzard) and Schuyler Fisk (The Babysitters Club, daughter of Sissy Spacek) for the shoot, which got under way Tuesday. Mark Webber, Zena Grey and Emmanuelle Chriqui also star. Paramount Pictures is keeping mum on which of the stars are currently here and who is slated to arrive later. Some shooting will also take place in Calgary when the production moves there in late March. In the movie, the 55-year-old Chase plays a weatherman and married dad of three kids who have the day off after a major snowfall closes schools and offices. Fisk plays one of Chase's children. At least five of the 10 weeks of filming will be done locally, with locations like downtown, Whyte Avenue and Old Glenora being considered. As well, ITV's morning news anchors Andrea Engel and Shaye Ganam have been told they'll have parts in the film as - you guessed it - news anchors. Snow Day is being directed by Chris Koch, marking his feature film debut. The film is a co-production of Paramount and its sister company Nickelodeon Movies, the duo responsible for the blockbuster Rugrats movie. |
