An arrest has been made in connection with the investigation of actor Corey Haim's death, CNN reports.
The California attorney general's office has released no other details about the arrest.
E! online reports the arrest was made Tuesday — the same day about 200 family and friends gathered in Thornhill, Ont., north of Toronto, to say good-bye to the 80s star.
On Friday, Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. said his office is investigating an “illegal and massive prescription-drug ring” with a link to Haim.
The release said an unauthorized prescription under the actor's name was found during an ongoing investigation of fraudulent prescription-drug pads ordered from a vendor in San Diego.
"Corey Haim's death is yet another tragedy linked to the growing problem of prescription-drug abuse," Brown said in Friday's release. "This problem is increasingly linked to criminal organizations, like the illegal and massive
prescription-drug ring under investigation. It's a serious public health problem."
Haim, 38, starred in several popular '80s movies, including The Lost Boys and License to Drive.
His star had faded by the end of the decade, and his lengthy battle with drug addiction has been well-documented.
The Toronto-born actor died March 10 with an enlarged heart, pulmonary congestion and water in his lungs. Toxicology results, which would determine what role, if any, drugs played in this death, aren't available yet.
