Curtis Hanson, the critically acclaimed director of "L.A. Confidential" and "Wonder Boys," has signed on to direct rapper Eminem's big-screen film bio, according to The New York Daily News.
Last March, Imagine Entertainment announced they had struck a deal with Slim Shady and his mentor, Dr. Dre, to make a film about the rapper's stormy rise to the top, from a screenplay by writer Scott Silver.
Eminem and Dre are reportedly writing new music for the film, and with Hanson committed to the project, the project is now likely to proceed to production, The Daily News said, although no start-date has been set for the project.
