HOLLYWOOD -- Casting for the live-action/computer-generated Alice in Wonderland is shaping up quite nicely.
Anne Hathaway has signed on as the White Queen, while Burton's resident leading lady, Helena Bonham Carter will play the Red Queen and you can already hear her ranting, "Off with her head!."
Speaking of royalty, Michael Sheen, who played such a bang-on Tony Blair in The Queen, is also on board, and although exact details of his involvement are so far being kept under wraps, given that big, Cheshire Cat grin of his, we can't help but wonder what part he'll be playing.
Rounding out the casting, Matt Lucas (TV's Little Britain) will be doing double duty as Tweedledum and Tweedledee, while Australian newcomer Mia Wasikowska has landed the pivotal part of Alice.
