Actor Ethan Hawke will put on his director's cap for the big screen adaptation of his novel "The Hottest State," Production Weekly reports.
Michelle Williams ("Brokeback Mountain") is set to star in the film about two young aspiring New York performers who are grappling with questions of self-identity and emotion that neither is equipped to handle.
Shooting on "The Hottest State" will begin in late January.
Hawke previously directed the 2001 film "Chelsea Walls," starring Rosario Dawson.
