HOLLYWOOD -- Kurt Russell and his partner, Goldie Hawn, have relocated to Vancouver so their 16-year-old son, Wyatt Russell, can play hockey.
"In Canada, hockey is a religion -- those ice rinks are churches -- so there was no better place for Wyatt to go.
"That's how dedicated he is to hockey," Russell says.
Wyatt is playing goalie for the Sockeyes, a Tier-II Junior team.
"He's doing really well. For the first seven or eight games, they gave him a pretty rough time because of who he is. But once they saw he really is a hockey player, they treated him like all the other guys."
Russell says his son "was determined to go up to Canada. He'd have gone on his own but Goldie and I felt it was better if we went along. It shows a greater degree of support."
Russell says the great irony is that "Wyatt is possibly the best actor in our whole family. He's so natural. I think on some level he wants to act, but right now his whole life revolves around hockey."
