BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Marisa Coughlan probably can call up her old acting buddy Katie Holmes any time, right?
“She’s harder to get hold of these days, I won’t lie,” Coughlan said yesterday. “She’s kind of in a different world now.”
Holmes, of course, primarily is known not as an actress anymore, but as the wife of Tom Cruise and the mother of wee Suri Cruise. Coughlan, who stars in the new Lifetime TV series Side Order of Life, co-starred with Holmes in a 1999 movie called Teaching Mrs. Tingle.
“My first break really was Teaching Mrs. Tingle,” Coughlan said.
“I had been on the guest-star circuit, and then I got this movie with a lot of people who were very hot at that moment (such as Holmes). “So that was a highlight. It was obviously a low point when I didn’t do as well as some of the others, but it was a very fun opportunity for me.”
