SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- From snakes on a plane to an octopus in a comic. Samuel L. Jackson is set to star as the villain The Octopus in The Spirit, to be directed by 300 and Sin City author Frank Miller.

Jackson is a notorious fiend for science fiction, horror and comics.

"I like a good film of any genre. I want something someone can say they enjoyed seeing."

Jackson, though, denied reports he has filmed a cameo in next summer's Iron Man.
