Famke Janssen as Jean Grey and Halle Berry as Storm in "X2: X-Men United."

Despite what happened to her character Jean Grey in the last "X-Men" film, star Famke Janssen has inked a deal to return in "X-Men 3," Variety reports.

This time around, Janssen will evolve into a character called the Phoenix.

Also returning is Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, and Halle Berry, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are all in negotiations to reprise their roles.

The film, directed by Matthew Vaughan, will begin shooting this summer for a May 26, 2006 release date.
