Former "ER" surgeon Eriq La Salle is picking up the scalpel once more to play a dubious doctor in the drama "Inside Out," Variety reports.

In the film, La Salle's character moves to a tight-knit community and makes the rounds as the new doctor in town.

His patients soon discover the suspicious doctor is tragically disrupting his patients' lives and manipulating them for his own scientific experiments, resulting in betrayal, scandal and ultimately murder.

"Inside Out," also starring Steven Weber, Nia Peeples and Russell Wong, will begin shooting shortly.
