Kate Mara ("Brokeback Mountain") will join forces with Mark Wahlberg ("Four Brothers") to star in the drama "The Shooter," Variety reports.

Mara will play the love interest of Wahlberg in Shooter, which centres on a master sniper who is lured out of a reclusive existence to prevent an assassination.

Antoine Fuqua ("King Arthur") will direct the pic with filming to begin in June in Vancouver.

Mara is currently filming the drama "We Are...Marshall," starring Matthew McConaughey.
