Even though the London, Ont.-born star of The Notebook and The Wedding Crashers says she is 28, several trusted sources, including imdb.com, maintain that her actual birth date is Oct. 7, 1976, which would make her an even 30.

While the practice of shaving off a couple of digits, especially if you’re an actress, is nothing unusual in this age-conscious town, maybe in McAdams’ case, those missing years might have a cosmic explanation rooted in the time-space continuum.

This fall she’s slated to start work on the big-screen edition of The Time Traveler’s Wife.
