Australian director Russell Mulcahy has signed on to direct the true story of Olympic swimmer Tony Fingleton, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Swimming Upstream" is being adapted from Fingleton's own account of his attempts to become a champion swimmer, despite an alcoholic father. The film is set to begin filming in Australia in November, the report said.
