"I assume Jocelyn put in a good word for me."

Mulroney says that acting is in his blood.

"My mother was a professional actress who gave up her career to raise her five children. She's just gone back to (stage) acting recently."

Mulroney's younger brother Kieran is also an actor. The brothers starred together in the John Hughes comedy Career Opportunities.

Mulroney and his older brother Dan are co-owners of The Double Door, one of Chicago's more popular music clubs.
