Thandie Newton

"Crash" star Thandie Newton will team up with Cuba Gooding Jr. ("Radio") to star alongside funnyman Eddie Murphy in the comedy "Norbit," Variety reports.

In a style employed by Murphy in the "Nutty Professor" and the sequel, "The Klumps," the comedian will play several roles in the film, appearing as a meek man pressed to marry a monstrous woman (also played by Murphy), only to meet the woman of his dreams (Newton).

Gooding will play Newton's boyfriend in the pic that has already begun filming in Los Angeles.

Brian Robbins ("The Shaggy Dog") is directing the film, which is set for release next year.

Murphy recently wrapped shooting the musical "Dreamgirls," starring Beyonce Knowles.
