HOLLYWOOD -- Australian actress Frances O'Connor plays Robards' wife, who first embraces the robot child (Osment) and then must discard him when he threatens her real child.
"It was absolutely horrible filming the scene where I have to abandon Haley in the woods. It was a whole day of being in that terribly tragic mindset," recalls O'Connor.
