Gwyneth Paltrow has agreed to star in an upcoming biopic of stage and screen legend Marlene Dietrich, Variety says.
No director or start date has been set as Paltrow has taken a screen sabbatical following the birth of her child, Apple, with her husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin.
German-born Dietrich was one of the top paid actresses in the 1920s and '30s with such films as the Joseph von Sternberg-directed "The Blue Angel" and "Destry Rides Again."
Paltrow can be seen later this year in "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" opposite Jude Law, and the screen version of the Tony Award-winning "Proof" with Anthony Hopkins.
