Actor Ving Rhames has climbed aboard "Night Train," a biopic about the life of late boxer Sonny Liston.
Variety reports Rhames will star as Liston, and will also be executive producer on the project.
The cast also includes Kristanna Loken ("Terminator 3"), Alfre Woodard and James Woods, who will play Liston's manager Ashe Resnick.
Liston became heavyweight champion by beating Floyd Patterson in 1962, but then lost the belt two years later to Muhammad Ali. He died of a heroin overdose in Las Vegas in 1970 under suspicious circumstances.
The film is scheduled to begin shooting in Puerto Rico next month, after which Rhames will join Tom Cruise on "Mission: Impossible 3."
