More fallout from Richards incident
By CARLY KRUG AND DARREN PARKMAN -- 24 Hours

The fallout continues in the showbiz community after a bizarre incident involving actress Denise Richards on the set of the movie Blonde and Blonder in Richmond Wednesday.

U.S. tabloids have been clamouring for more details after an angry Richards approached two unauthorized photographers perched above her movie set at the River Rock Casino. After a heated exchange, their laptop computers were hurled over a balcony, striking two elderly women.

Now, an unnamed source working on the movie claims Richards exploded because the photographers were harassing her. "She got upset because they were trying to get a rise out of her and taunting her."

One of the photographers involved, freelancer Rik Fedyck, spent hours meeting with RCMP yesterday, and has been deluged with calls from media outlets around the world.

Stupid Star Tricks: Denise Richards: An elderly assassin

The elderly women below weren't seriously injured, and have indicated they won't pursue charges, but there's still no word on whether any other charges might be laid in connection with the incident.

Richards was too busy filming yesterday to address her laptop flinging antics at the River Rock Casino Resort but her publicist did issue a rather unapologetic statement.

"Based on the actions of the paparazzi they are lucky their laptops were the only things that were thrown off the ledge," read the e-mail from Nicole Perez of Rogers and Cowan.

Jeff Barmash, a producer on Blonde and Blonder, spoke on behalf of production saying, "[We're] grateful there were no injuries."

River Rock Casino Resort spokesperson Howard Blank said, "Obviously Denise feels horrible," that the two women, ages 81 and 90, got caught in the middle of the scuffle. He added that both Richards and Pamela Anderson, who co-star in the film, spoke with the elderly women after the laptops came crashing down on them. "

They all left on good terms," he said.

Gossip guru and CTV eTalk correspondent, Elaine Lui of www.laineygossip.com, spoke exclusively with one of the photographers involved, and said the attack was unprovoked and one celebrity tantrum that can't be blamed on "evil paparazzi."

"[The photographers] were very far away from her," she says. "I disagree with aggressive tactics such as following and speeding in a car ... but [Richards] was in no danger."

Lui said that while Richards isn't prone to altercations with paparazzi she has seen her fair share of controversy lately both due to a "dirty divorce battle" with actor Charlie Sheen "in which she accused him of horrific things," and subsequently dating her former good friend Heather Locklear's ex Richie Sambora.

Police say their investigation continues.
