Madonna's hubby Guy Ritchie is set to rewrite and direct the gangster film "Static," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film centres of a wrongly imprisoned gangster who must overcome corrupt cops and rival gangs in order to testify against the law enforcement officials who put him away.

Ritchie's film credits include "Snatch," "Swept Away" and last year's "Revolver."
