Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was injured Monday during a football practice in preparation for a movie role that is now on hiatus, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The Rock hurt his Achilles tendon while practicing for his role as a quarterback in the Walt Disney film "Game Plan," and is expected to undergo surgery to repair the problem on Friday in Miami.

Production on the family comedy has been put on hold until The Rock fully heals. It is unknown how long the recovery time will be.
