It looks like Joel Schumacher wants Mr. Sandman to bring him a dream.

IESB.net reports that "The Number 23" director has his eyes on Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" comic book series.

The idea of a big-screen adaptation of the property has been bouncing around for a few years now, but nothing has been finalized. This could be because Gaiman has yet to see proof that someone could do the franchise justice.

IESB.net further reports that at a comic book convention he said, "I'd rather no Sandman movie got made than [to have] a bad Sandman movie."
