Despite winning both worst director and worst actor at this year's Razzie Awards for "Lady in the Water," M. Night Shyamalan has a lot happening at the moment.

Variety.com reports 20th Century Fox has given the go-ahead to Shyamalan's next writing-directing effort, "The Happening."

The film, which will be the director's first R-rated affair, follows a family on the run from a natural crisis that presents a large-scale threat to mankind.

"The Happening" is set to start shooting this August in Philadelphia, with a possible June 2008 release.
