You can also officially stamp Alicia Silverstone retired from the role of Batgirl. We asked Silverstone -- who's soon to be seen opposite Brendan Fraser and Dave Foley in the comedy Blast From The Past -- whether she'll ever play Batgirl again.

"No," she snapped, "I hear Joel Schumacher will be Batgirl."

Director Schumacher is the guy who "lightened" Batman's image for Batman Forever and Batman And Robin (Mad TV had a great spoof in which Schumacher unveils plans for Batman 5: The Musical with Tommy Tune and Ben Vereen).

Alicia followed the mildly-homophobic gibe by recounting the terrible time she had on Batman And Robin, wearing an uncomfortable costume and having to act at blank screens.
