"Hitch" star Will Smith is in early talks for the lead role in the dark superhero drama "Tonight, He Comes."

The film, which will be directed by "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" helmer Jonathan Mostow, tells the story of a depressed superhero who smokes, drinks and engages in one-night stands.

His life starts to change, however, after he is drawn towards a married woman.

A holiday 2006 release date is being eyed.
