Dirty dancer Patrick Swayze is set to star in a new crime drama centred around the U.S. army's investigative unit.
Variety reports the series, "C.I.D" -- which stands for criminal investigation division -- would be the first TV series foray for Swayze ("Dirty Dancing," "Ghost").
Producer Mace Neufeld, who has worked on several military-themed Tom Clancy adaptations, is trying to secure co-operation from the army for the series, which Variety characterized as in the vein of "Homicide" and "NYPD Blue," set against an army backdrop.
Meanwhile, Swayze's next big-screen release will be in "Waking Up In Reno," opposite Billy Bob Thornton and Natasha Richardson.
He recently co-wrote the dance-themed film "Without A Word," which was directed by his wife, Lisa Niemi. (More on Patrick Swayze)
