With the box-office success of "Rush Hour 2," a third instalment of the cross-cultural buddy action-comedy is already in the works.
The Zap2it.com website reports that co-star Chris Tucker is eager to get to work on a third chapter in the series.
"I told them, we should do 'Rush Hour 2 and 3' at the same time, like 'The Matrix' sequels," Tucker told Zap2it, referring to the simultaneous shooting of two sequels to the sci-fi action hit.
While the first film was set on the West coast and the sequel moved to Hong Kong, the next instalment will move to New York. Beyond that, says director Brett Ratner, "we'll make it up as we go go."
One complication will be scheduling. Chan is making three movies in the coming year: "The Tuxedo," "Shanghai Knights", and a remake of the Jerry Lewis comedy "The Bellboy", as well as unspecified Hong Kong-based features.
Tucker also has a busy schedule of films, including "Mr. President," a concert film based on his stand-up act, Zap2it reported.
