Mystery wrapped up in a Matrix
By BRUCE KIRKLAND
HOLLYWOOD -- The Wachowski Brothers, 37-year-old Larry and 35-year-old Andy, are notoriously media-shy. Their contracts specify they do not have to tolerate any interviews for the release of The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions, which they co-wrote and co-directed.

So it is up to their actors to shed light on these two pseudo-Kubricks from Chicago. Today, it is Monica Bellucci's turn (other actors will have their say each day this week):

"The Wachowski Brothers are so mysterious to me, so European. They are two different personalities, but they are complementary."

Bellucci says that, even when each of them gave her totally opposite directions for the same scene, things still worked out because The Brothers allowed creativity on the set.

"Even though they respect so much the script, you are completely free as an actress. I mean, I gave to them my interpretation of Persephone and they loved it."
